Puppy Pick Process

After your puppy application is approved and your puppy deposit is made, your name is added to our “Puppy Wait List” located on our Upcoming Litters Page. We post pictures of each individual pup when they are two weeks old and update the photos every 2-3 weeks. Each pup will be priced according to breed and coloring. Please follow our Instagram evergreendoodledogs for more pictures and videos.

We require all puppy buyers to choose their pup by the time they are 4 weeks old.  We update our website in real time as each pup is chosen from their litter and show which pups are still available.  Each pup is offered on a first come first served basis.  You can make your puppy choice in person, via FaceTime/Google Duo or from the pictures posted on our website.  You must notify us of your pick by email, so we have a confirmed and accurate record of each puppy’s adopted home.

Health Testing

We test our sires and dam’s DNA for approximately 150 known canine diseases through Animal Genetics, Paw Prints and Embark. Some canine diseases are not able to be tested for and are out of our control.  We do, however, take each of our dog’s lineage and health into account before planning out our litters. Diseases known to commonly affect our breeds (which are screened for) would be Hip Dysplasia, Canine Degenerative Myelopathy (DM), Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA), Von Willebrand Disease (VWD), etc. Some diseases, like Hip Dysplasia can be brought on by environmental factors rather than genetics.

Dewclaws & Tail Docking

After a great deal of research, debating and talking to other Doodle breeders about this topic, we have decided to keep our puppies’ dewclaws intact.

The dewclaw is like a dog’s thumb and is used to help a dog maneuver while running, enables them to climb and grip objects such as bones, and is connected to other tendons in the wrist. They are not dead appendages. Removing the claw is not only extremely painful but damages those tendons which can lead to arthritis.

Removing dewclaws, tail docking, and ear cropping is outlawed in Europe and many other countries. The United States is one of the few countries that still allows these procedures to be done purely for cosmetic reasons.

We do not offer tail docking on any of our Doodle puppies.  We believe that Doodle puppies with natural tails are no less lovable, trainable, or beautiful.
